Description
Responding to a strange call, Inspector Kurt Wallander arrives at a rapeseed field just in time to witness the self-immolation of a teenage girl. The next day he is called to a beach where the former Minister of Justice has been murdered and scalped. The murder has the obvious markings of a serial killing, and Wallander is frantic to find the killer before he strikes again. But his investigation is beset with a handful of personal and professional obstacles, not the least of which are a tenuous long-distance relationship with a murdered policeman's widow and a haunting obsession with the teenage girl who set herself on fire.
