Description
A novel about a young Bavarian woman immigrating to the U.S. in 1870. The story covers her experiences teaching in an orpha2197 in New York, & in a Milwaukee girl's academy. Francheska eventually moves to a farm in southeastern Minnesota to raise her family. A heartwarming story covering thirty years of U.S. history in diverse settings. Excellent portrayal of life in U.S. in late 19th century.
