Two aging classical dancers, Jairaj and Ratna Parekh, are preparing for a major festival performance by their daughter Lata, who needs a drummer to accompany her. Meanwhile Lata waits anxiously for her parents to meet Viswas, the young man she hopes to marry. When the families come together, long-buried tensions between the older couple boil over, pulling them back toward their youth and a past tragedy. The younger pair face their own problems, including the gap between their families, disagreement over whether Lata will keep dancing after marriage, and her struggle to balance her parents' ambitions with her own wishes. The play examines tradition and rebellion through the strains within one family.
