Jerram Barrs, a longtime staff member at L'Abri, looks closely at the conversations Jesus had with a wide range of people in the Gospels. He asks what those encounters can teach believers about sharing the good news today. Christians living in a society hostile to their faith can feel pressed to blend in, pull back, or stay quiet. Barrs argues that Jesus showed a faithful alternative, speaking with grace and truth and opening spiritual conversations with compassion. Each chapter retells one of these meetings, then draws out lessons for daily life and for explaining the gospel to people who do not yet believe. Questions at the end of each chapter invite readers to reflect and to apply what they have read. The aim is a practical guide for living among unbelievers and loving them toward the kingdom, following the pattern Jesus set.
