Dragon's Blood

Legends of vampires, it turns out, trace back to a single reckless dragon. Hidden among ordinary people are dragons who can change shape and feed on blood. A young woman who was already running from trouble is seized off a subway platform by a striking stranger who seems unhinged. He tells her of dragons, fate, and enemies who want her dead, and insists she is bound to him as a dragon's mate, a term she doesn't understand. Pulled into a conflict she never asked for, she must decide whom she can trust. The person she increasingly needs is Janos Aventech, an elder and leader among the Cruentus Dragons.
