Madcap Masquerade

The Randwicks are an old family whose fortunes have dwindled, though their lineage is beyond question. Loel Woodbine, the Duke of Marche and inheritor of three great estates, proposes to Valeria Randwick, and on the face of it the match would rescue her household. Valeria, however, has already given her heart to someone else, a man without a title. Eager to escape the engagement, she devises an outlandish plan that relies on her brother Valentine, who was raised in a monastery and knows little of society. Marche sees through the scheme, yet rather than expose it he offers to help. Together the two men must convince the ton while a murder accusation hangs over them and a growing attraction complicates every step.
