Anne Andrews has lost 150 pounds with the help of the vertical sleeve gastrectomy weight loss surgery. In the time leading up to her surgery, she read everything she could find about the sleeve. It became her new obsession. She read medical journals online, message boards, and devoured any book that was about weight loss surgery. At the time, there were no books written about the vertical sleeve. The sleeve was only mentioned in passing in a few general weight loss surgery books, and was often labeled "experimental." She knew she wanted to write a book to help other patients who are in that "reading like crazy" mode to hear from a patient that had the sleeve surgery. This is the book. She hopes it helps others in their quest to escape morbid obesity.
