Growing up alongside her older brother means knowing his best friend very well, and for years the boy has been little more than a nuisance. Lately, though, he has started behaving differently around her, and she finds it hard to understand. She never went looking for his attention. Now he insists he has been patiently waiting for her to grow up, and the narrator must decide how she feels about a friendship that is slowly turning into something else.
