"Why?"

He shrugged. "I have my reasons."

I knew his offer was something I could not refuse. My aunts, who had raised me since my parents died in an accident when I was five, were on the verge of losing their house. They would have their mortgage paid off and I'd be a million dollars richer if I accepted his offer. All I had to do was pretend to be his wife for six months. Then, we'd divorce and I'd go on my merry way.

I could do that, right?

I just have to make sure he doesn't break my heart in the process.
