Queen of the Void (The Void Queen Trilogy Book 1)

Catarina Vargus, once a pirate, now commands a powerful battle cruiser carrying settlers, workers, engineers and naval crew toward a new outpost beyond the edge of known space. The Royal Navy hopes the base will serve as a forward position in its fight against the Apex, an alien enemy determined to wipe out all thinking life in the region. Her expedition soon attracts the attention of Scandian raiders, who have been driven from their own worlds by plague and conflict. Furious at the intrusion and eager to seize her ships and supplies, the raiders send a fleet of star wolves to destroy the outpost before it can take hold. Catarina must defend her people against enemies on every side. This opening volume of a new trilogy offers a space adventure that newcomers and longtime readers of the Starship Blackbeard series can both enjoy.
