The Sculpted Ship

Anailu Xindar once dreamed of commanding her own starship, but growing up turned that dream into a more practical plan. She trained as a starship engineer, saved her earnings, and built the experience a captain would need. When her steady job falls apart, she finally holds her license and decides to go it alone. Her search for a cheap, dependable freighter takes an unexpected turn: she strikes a reckless bargain for a rare, impractical ship that is beautiful but missing vital parts. Now she must get it flying again, and her engineering know-how alone will not be enough. Her repairs lead her onto a frontier world at the edge of a vast empire, where she faces wild dangers, formal social events, malfunctioning machines, and a stubborn fashion designer. Along the way she will make allies and enemies alike.
