Purrfect Murder

Max is an ordinary-looking ginger tabby, except for one thing: he can talk to his human, Odelia Poole, a newspaper writer in the small town of Hampton Cove. Max, with his feline friends Dooley and Harriet, has a talent for digging up the town's best stories, and now and then a dead body. When a bestselling author turns up buried in an old outhouse, the whole town is buzzing. Odelia's inquiry runs into trouble when Chase Kingsley, a blunt new detective, arrives and resents reporters meddling in his case. He also brings Brutus, a huge, aggressive cat who wants Max's territory and the attention of a white Persian. Max and his crew must solve the crime and keep their close-knit household of animals together.
