Something strange is unsettling Second World, the most popular massively multiplayer game on the planet. Alliances are collapsing and old friendships are fading as a worthless low-level mine becomes the site of savage fighting. Roads are blocked, borders are sealed, and weaker players and non-player characters face constant raids from invaders out of the East. The stronger players are hunting for whoever is behind the chaos, a newcomer the veterans have started calling the weirdest noob they have ever seen. This first book in the series is a fantasy about a game world that has turned dangerous.
