The Stampede

On a quiet afternoon, the Morgan family is sharing a picnic beneath an oak tree near their ranch house. Gunshots ring out from the east, and everyone stands, unsure who is shooting. Their hands are away in town, and Jed suspects a neighbour. Before they can learn the truth, the ground begins to shake, and they realise it is no earthquake. Their own frightened cattle come pouring over a rise and charge toward them, leaving the family very little time to reach shelter.
