This short book by the Theravada monk Ajahn Sumedho presents the Four Noble Truths, the core teaching of the Buddha on suffering and its ending. It explains the truth of suffering, its origin in craving and clinging, the possibility of its cessation, and the path that leads toward that end. Sumedho approaches these ideas as things to be understood through direct experience and everyday practice rather than as abstract doctrine, making the teaching accessible to those new to Buddhism as well as to long-time students.
