Saiyuki, Vol. 8

Sanzo, Goku, and Hakkai are searching for Gojyo, who has wandered off on his own. Meanwhile, Gojyo is making his way up an endless staircase toward heaven, where a monster with a motherly manner attacks him. When the rest of the group finally catches up, the fight is only beginning. The four companions, who have spent much of the journey bickering, must set their differences aside and face a powerful deity whose war threatens them all. This volume sets up the struggle against a dangerous god.
