Mujeres Alteradas 4

Mujeres Alteradas is Maitena's wry comic strip about the lives of women in Argentina and beyond. In this fourth volume, her cartoon characters, drawn in a few quick lines, go through the familiar pressures of the modern woman: love and its disappointments, marriage and the household, motherhood, work, body image and the endless demands to look and act perfect. Each page is a small sketch with a sharp caption, and the humor comes from recognizing oneself in the exaggerated, anxious heroines. The strips are short and can be read in any order, making the book easy to pick up and put down. Often bitingly honest, the collection is as much about the frustrations of everyday life as it is about the comedy of it.
