Faye has given up on a world with no other people left, and her only plan is to reach her home and die there. Her path changes when she meets Dodge and two young boys, whose presence wakes a desire to survive that she thought she had lost. Radio calls reveal that other survivors exist, and the group joins a growing camp. Then a new discovery upends their hard-won safety and the community's rules begin to shift. Searching for a secure refuge and a place in this altered world, Faye must decide between what she wants and what she feels she ought to do.
