A Murder Most Rosy

In Waresville, a small tourist town built on a strange and bloody past, the supernatural draws visitors and keeps the local economy running. When a schoolteacher dies in a fall on school grounds, officials quickly treat it as a suicide, and most people shrug it off. Harper Beck, a witch and an unofficial sleuth who never turns down a puzzle, sees things differently. Another local woman's death from apparently natural causes adds to her unease. As Harper digs, she finds plenty of suspects and very little hard evidence, and a former adversary in the police department would rather she drop the case entirely. Her personal life is complicated too: the late teacher's partner's son has pressed her into directing his school play, and her own trust issues threaten her relationship with a detective.
